Technology behind the office copier
Imagine what would have been your state of mind when you still had to go through the vigorous process of copying by hand, a prerequisite for all people before the advent of the copier. Certainly tedious and exasperating. Without giving a single thought to the technology that works behind a Copier, be it refurbished copier or a new office copier, we just focus on the optimal shootout of the copies into the paper tray.

Imagine what would have been your
state of mind when you still had to go through the vigorous process of copying
by hand, a prerequisite for all people before the advent of the copier. Certainly
tedious and exasperating. Without giving a single thought to the technology
that works behind a Copier, be it
refurbished copier or a new office
copier,
we just focus on the optimal shootout of the
copies into the paper tray. But it’s astounding to think that within few seconds,
now you can generate an accurate replica of what’s on a sheet of paper.
Before going deep into the overall
process of replication carried out by a Copier for home and office, it is also
crucial to know what is actually done at the human-end. Technology made it, the
overall role of a person is narrowed down to a few steps. Right from the
opening of the Copier lid to the final press down of the start button, there
are few things left for a person to do.
Whereas at the heart of a Copier,
only one basic principle makes it to work robustly that is opposite charges
attract each other
. Just like a
statistically charged balloon which attracts small pits of paper very
effortlessly, a copier with a special copier
drum follow the similar process. The
drum of an office copier acts more like a balloon and can be charged with a
static electricity.
Fine black powdery
substance- particles of toner -employed in a copier, are attracted by this
drum.
The toner particles, after getting
stretched on the surface of the drum, have to move on to the sheet of copier paper. And consequently the
sheet of paper gets charged with the static electricity and afterward pulls the
toner particles off the drum. This sheet is then heated and pressed to fuse the
image created by the toner to the surface of the paper. As far as the other
crucial parts of a new or refurbished Copier for office are concerned, they are
corona wires, lamp and lenses and fuser.
